Dr. Saida Yassin was born in Tanzania, where she gained her medical degree at Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir, Turkey, and practiced medicine in Tanzania before immigrating to the USA. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Hennepin Healthcare in Minnesota, where she was awarded the Excellence in the Practice of Primary Care Medical Award and pursued a fellowship in geriatric medicine.
Dr. Yassin has extensive experience working with immigrant and underserved populations in various leadership roles. She is passionate about primary care, global health, integrative medicine, and promoting patient advocacy and empowerment. Driven by her keen interest in healthcare inequity, disparities, and social medicine, Dr. Yassin completed the Health Equity Scholar program with Cambridge Health Alliance, class of 2023.
In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, volunteering, community building, and spending time with her global family. Dr. Yassin speaks Kiswahili and Turkish.
